Sarah is a freelance writer, independent advisor, and researcher.
Sarah has 15 years of experience advising & convening CEOs, policy-makers, public institutions and grassroots organizations on issues of race, gender, climate and technology.
Sarah currently serves as an independent consultant advising organizations on social impact, gender, racial equity and inclusion strategies.
She previously served as a Director at CEO Action for Racial Equity, pushing CEO’s and the business community to do more to end systemic racism in the United States. She led a team focused on how to narrow the Digital Divide for Black students and families addressing issues with broadband infrastructure, affordability, access and adoption.
Sarah serves on the Executive Board of Girl Be Heard, a Brooklyn-based non-profit developing, amplifying and celebrating the voices of girls and young women through socially conscious theater-making, storytelling and performance.
She previously served on the board of the Center for Asylum Seekers, Refugees and Detainees, an independent and community organization providing essential welfare and advocacy support to asylum seekers, refugees and detainees in Western Australia.
Sarah studied International Relations, during which she examined gender and the narratives that led to the shooting of Pakistani education activist, Malala Yousafzai in Pakistan. Sarah completed a Master in Social Innovation from the University of Cambridge, where she explored how technology, specifically artificial intelligence and machine learning perpetuate gender inequality. Sarah is currently a Practice Fellow at Cambridge Center for Social Innovation at the University of Cambridge.
Sarah’s areas of interest include: Kashmir & South Asian history, social justice & post-colonial movements, cultural and heritage conservation, access to a quality education and the intersections of gender and race.
Sarah is Kashmiri-Australian and has worked in Australia, Asia, London and the United States. She is currently based in Brooklyn, New York.
